Above are three prostate microparticles from PCa patient plasma. I love AFM because it provides exquisite topographical detail and also gives you nanometer-angstrom scale volumetrics. These PCMPs are tiny – average diameter (max XY) appears to be 200nm. The max height about 50-80nm. My imaging modality of choice is AFM. If I could do magnetic AFM I would! Sabine will have a paper out pretty soon on SNOM imaging of purified PMCPs, but I won’t let the idea out of the bag, or she’ll kill me!
